Guests at the Back garden D’Lights in Bellevue, Washington experienced a problem. Although touring the vacation lights demonstrate, they held straying off the path. The event organizers attempted some simple LED arrows, but they were just additional factors of light amongst a sea loaded with them. This is when [Eric Gunnerson] was requested to assistance out. He’s apparently experienced some practical experience with LED animations, even cooking up a straightforward descriptor language for crafting animations driven by an ESP32. To make the supposed route noticeable, he turned to a PVC board with 50 embedded WS2812 pixels –RGB controllable LEDs. The manage box was a USB power adapter and an ESP8266, incredibly thoroughly waterproofed and linked to the string of pixels. The backer board is painted black, to full the components. The description of the construct system is in-depth and has some great tips, but with no a clever LED animation, it is really continue to of questionable utility. The sample picked is excellent, with the LEDs being blue most of the time, and a flame-like gradient chasing via the arrow each couple seconds. It is of course unique from the lights of the show, and seems to be a serious winner. [Eric] has released his code, with the sheepish caveat that he experienced to reinvent the wheel when yet again, and could not reuse any of his earlier LED animation function on this one.
